August Support for Manuel and Nancy Gonzalez

July 24, 2008 Note from Nancy Gonzalez:

Hi Mike,
I don’t know if you got my voice message or not…at your house. We are so very excited and thankful that the Memorial Grant was granted to us. You got that email, right? It is such a blessing!

Southeastern sent their last check in July since we were supposedly going to be in the U.S. by then. It’s just so wearisome to still be here stranded because of things that have been out of our control. I guess you read that in the grant it said that we would not go into effect until the month after we arrive in the U.S. Calvin also said that Continent couldn’t be responsible for our work while we were still in Guatemala.

This puts us in a tight spot because we still have to cancel our cell phone contracts and several other things that are giving us extra expenses. Calvin had mentioned to Manuel that he had talked to you asking if maybe Greenwood Park could supplement the $1,200 that Southeastern wouldn’t be sending. I’m so sorry Mike…we HATE to ask you guys for more than you’ve already done for us. We were just wondering if GWP could help us out a little bit. If you guys can’t do it or can’t do the whole amount we totally understand. One thing we do know is that the Lord always takes care of us and is in control.

Let me know what you think.

Love you guys so much,
Nancy and Manuel

August 5, 2008 note from Nancy Gonzalez:

Family at Greenwood Park,
Manuel and I just want to thank you for all the love and support that you’ve given us over the past several years and for helping us with the extra support to get us through the month of August.

We have built a friendship with you and are forever grateful to our Lord for this precious gift. The family of believers at Greenwood Park is a true inspiration to us. Your zeal to spread the Gospel and help others by involving the whole congregation is something needed in every church family. We hope this always stays alive in you and that you continue to joyously glorify the name of the Lord.

Just a little update on the residency and our venture to get to the U.S….Manuel’s in Honduras picking up the papers (his background check) that we need for the interview with the Embassy this Friday. I still won’t believe that they have finally come through until I see them in his had when he gets home! (Yes, I am a Doubting Thomas.) Honduras is so backwards, it’s taken forever! J In Guatemala we requested and received the same paperwork in a matter of days! But thankfully Manuel will be coming home tomorrow with everything, Lord willing. We’ll let you know how everything goes. I think they let us know at the interview with the embassy whether or not we’ve got the residency. We hope!

We thank you again for all of your love, concern, and prayers that you have offered up on our behalf. We look forward to continuing to work with you while we are in Texas. We know it may be a little easier for you to come visit us there! J Manuel and I will come see you, Lord willing, as soon as we arrive in Nashville to carry our things to Fort Worth.

En Cristo,
Nancy and Manuel
