Helping a sister in need... (7/13/08)

July 13, 2008

The missions committee recently approached the Greenwood Park family to meet the need of a sister in Managua, Nicaragua, who was having to leave her two preschool children home alone during the day to work. Greenwood Park responded far beyond what what was asked and we are now able to have the Jose Dolores congregation help Sister Jamileth in the following way:

  • $2,000.00 US to construct a house and buy furniture
  • $200.00 US per month for the next 15 months for her monthly expenses including medicines, education, food and living expenses. These funds now allow her to quit her job and stay home with her children.

Jonas and Brenda Chavez will keep us informed regarding how Jamileth is doing during this time. She knows she is expected to take good care of her children and lead a life Christ would be proud of, and we know the Jose Dolores congregation will help her do that. In addition, we are looking for ways she can earn money from her home. If she is able to sew, for example, we would consider buying her a sewing machine.

Thank you, Greenwood park family for your generosity and love for our brothers and sisters around the world!
